End of the World Train
The day begins with pick-up from your hotel and heading to the southwest of the island. Our first stop is the End of the World train station where you have the option of riding the train into the park and reliving local history, travelling the same route where over a century ago the town’s prisoners used to gather firewood for a fledgling Ushuaia.
Those passengers who do not wish to ride the train can enjoy the station’s facilities and walk in its surroundings, where you’ll begin to appreciate the characteristics that make the island such a unique landscape within Argentina.
Zaratiegui Bay
From End of the World Train’s final station we’ll pick you up and head into the Tierra del Fuego National Park. Our first visiting point is the majestic Zaratigui Bay where the world’s most southerly tip-of-the-continent post office gives you the chance to send postcards inspired by the magical landscape to the people you love. The bay offers views of Redonda Island and the charming fauna and flora of the south.
A Renewing Trail
The various trails of the Tierra del Fuego National Park give you the opportunity to see up close the unique species of the sub-Antarctic forest; its rivers, lakes and lagoons, mountains and especially its fauna. Meet the friendly Fuegian fox and spot the great variety of birds, from the Magellanic woodpecker to the black-necked swan and the Megallanic goose. We’ll visit forest trails that allow you to make multiple stops, enjoy incredible panoramic views and feel completely surrounded by the natural landscape at the End of the World.
Lake Acigami
Lake Acigami, which in the indigenous Yaghan language means “Long Bag”, is a lake of glacial origin surrounded by unique and unforgettable landscapes of forest and mountains. Here you’ll have time to walk along the shore and appreciate the geo-glacial features carved throughout eons. It’s an ideal moment and location to reflect on our obligations and commitments to the natural world and to feel the profound respect for nature this setting inspires in so many visitors.
Lapataia Bay
This panoramic jewel is the must-have photo at the island’s southernmost point accessible by land. A magic place to feel a deep love with your partner, strengthen your friendships, or celebrate life with your family.
After this trip, you may well indeed sense that you were at “The End of the World, the Beginning of Everything”
