The trip begins with collection from your hotel. With everyone aboard we’ll head north on National Route Noº3 and away from the Beagle Chanel into the mountains, where on the horizon Mount Olivia and Mount Cinco Hemanos will soon appear, as will the magnificent Carbajal, Lashifasaj and Tierra Mayor Valleys.
We’ll continue on Route Noº3 until we hit the Cerro Castor Ski Center, where in winter thousands of tourists and residents alike practice their favorite winter sports.
At 450 meters above sea level we get to the Garibaldi Pass where we cross the Andes! Here we’ll stop and get the day’s first glimpse of lake Escondido and lake Khami (Fagnano). This unmissable panoramic view is a must for any memory album.
We’ll continue by road until the old Bronsovich lumber mill and from there take the Provincial Route Noº119 for a further 10km where we’ll get onto our off-road circuit; an historic footprint of the old woodsmen, that runs through ancient lenga beech-wood forest and over some pretty serious obstacles until our destination lake Fagnano.
Coming out of the off-road circuit we head towards the magical Villa Marina, a truly superb spot to enjoy a delicious lunch and the stunning views just off the lake.
After lunch we’ll pick up Route Noº3 once again and head towards the Tierra Mayor Valley, where surrounded by the Bonete and Alvear peaks and several glacial cirques, you’ll take a ride on husky pulled sleds!
After sledding there’s time to warm up some and enjoy a rich hot chocolate before returning happily to Ushuaia.
